Shrimp in Lime Marinade

1 ½ - 2 lbs. Medium to large sized shrimp
coarse salt, to taste
juice of 3 lemons
juice of 4 limes
6 cloves garlic, halved
1/4t red pepper flakes
1/4C olive oil
lemon and lime wedges
fresh ground pepper

Slit shrimp shells down the back of shrimp and remove vein.  Leave shells attached.  Dry shrimp with paper towels.  Sprinkle with salt.  Out in glass or stainless steel bowl.  Mix juices, garlic and red pepper and pour over shrimp.  Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 4 hours to marinate. 

When you are ready to cook, brush marinated shrimp with olive oil.  Grill or broil, turning over once ½ way through cooking.  Mix remaining sauce with olive oil and use as a dipping sauce.  Serve with lime wedges and fresh ground pepper.
